Not sure how to use your SingapoRediscover vouchers just yet?
Part of an initiative from the Singapore Tourism Board meant to help prop up the local tourism industry, these vouchers offer amazing value if you use them right.
They’re valid for over 300 establishments and attractions, giving you a lot of flexibility in their use.
If you’re wondering how to make the most of yours, I’ll give you the answers to that below.
Check the list of approved establishments, attractions and tours first.
As mentioned, the vouchers are valid for more than 300 establishments and attractions. Naturally, that means they’re not valid for others.
That’s because the vouchers can only be used with hotels, tours, and the like that have been approved by the Singapore Tourism Board beforehand.
As such, it’s best not to go out and try to use the vouchers on the very first attraction or hotel you find.
You should check beforehand if you can spend them at the places you want to try. This can spare you a lot of inconvenience in your local trips.
Look for stacked or matched discounts from partners
You’d be surprised how far you can stretch the $100 in your vouchers if you look around a bit!
For example, let’s say you’re a UOB cardholder and plan to use Klook. I’m using UOB as an example because it has a lot of very attractive offers here, by the way.
If you use at least $10 of your vouchers on Klook and pay for the rest of your purchase using your UOB card, you can enjoy some nice discounts.
Assuming your minimum spend after using the $10 voucher is $30, for instance, you can get $5 off! Or if your spend after the voucher is $100 instead, you can get as much as $20 off.
This gives you an idea of how to make your vouchers work better, so to speak.
Just look around and you’ll find more such offers. The Singapore Tourism Board partnered with quite a few hospitality and tourism companies for this venture, so you won’t be short of options.
Check for bundles on the booking channels authorised by the Singapore Tourism Board
We already mentioned Klook in the previous tip, but there are actually 4 other appointed booking platforms you should look at.
These are Traveloka, Changi Recommends, GlobalTix, and Trip.com.
Basically, these 4 offer the best bundle deals for your buck right now if you’re interested in doing any tourism or travel.
These bundle deals often include a stay at a hotel, dining credits at restaurants, and credits for nearby attractions or entertainment centres.
Since you can usually add the savings from your SingapoRediscover vouchers to them, you can get away with a pretty hefty discount if you’re smart.
Before using your vouchers, redeem the youth tickets you’re entitled to!
This is pretty important if you have kids or grandkids, as you can’t do it any longer once you’ve spent all of your SingapoRediscover vouchers.
As long as you have a minimum of $10 left in vouchers, though, you can redeem up to 6 vouchers for minors.
You can’t use the vouchers, of course, as only the kids can use them. Still, they’re a nice boost to your discounts if you tend to travel or sightsee with the younger members of the family.
The vouchers you can redeem are viable for local attractions. You can get up to 6 of them, with each one valued at $10.
Keep in mind, by the way, that you can only redeem the tickets if you declare your familial relation with the child for whom they’re being redeemed.
