Restaurants In Langkawi

Langkawi’s hospitality scene has exploded in recent years, and the food on these beautiful islands is comparable to some of the best restaurants in the world. Think fresh seafood, world-class desserts, and produce pulled fresh from the fertile farmland of the mainland.

Kayuputi

Whether you’ve got a special occasion on your holiday or just want to get a little fancy, pay Kayupati at the St Regis Langkawi a visit. This seaside dining house provides customers with magnificent views over the ocean, and some of the best Asian fusion cuisine in Malaysia.

Kayuputi doesn’t subscribe to conventional fine-dining aesthetic – instead, relax in brightly coloured silk-blend hammocks with soft throw pillows and quality food for a dining experience you’ll never forget.

Address: The St. Regis Langkawi, Jalan Pantai Beringin, Kuah, Langkawi, Kedah

FatCUPID Restaurant

Now this is a melting pot of culture! From traditional Malay through to Italian or Australian fare, you can order almost any kind of cuisine from this unassuming little Langkawi restaurant.

Just like the name suggests, FatCUPID focuses on comfort food from many different countries. You can get traditional Malaysian laksas, all the way through to classic American cheeseburgers for some of that home-cooked deliciousness. While the best way to experience a culture is through the food, sometimes it's nice to get something that tastes like home.

Everything at FatCUPID is made with fresh ingredients from Langkawi and the surrounding islands of the archipelago. Whether you’ve gone for a salad or the world-famous salmon fishcakes, you can be assured that your food will be of the highest quality Malaysia has to offer.

Address: Lot 2273, Kampung Tasek Anak, Jalan Pantai Tengah, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah

Yellow Café

For an off-beat, unique dining experience, you can’t go past Yellow Café. This all-day dining hall undergoes an absolute metamorphosis once the sun goes down, moving from a family-friendly restaurant to an exciting cocktail bar.

True to its name, the décor at Yellow Café is something to behold. Everything is spotted with bright shades of yellow, from the sunset-inspired walls to the chairs and hammocks on the balcony. No matter what time of day it is, you’ll feel as though you’re bathing in bright sunlight.

Yellow Café unapologetically caters to the rich and dynamic tourist trade, with the kitchen churning out affordable western cuisine for hungry customers. Think chicken wings, steaks and salads on the menu alongside satay meats and local tropical fruits.

As with any decent bar, Yellow Café puts on a great happy hour promotion just as the sun goes down. If you’re after a refreshing beverage to wash your meal down, pints of beer and glasses of wine are two-for-the-price-of-one from 6 pm to 8 pm every night. Let your hair down and dance to live music, with jazz, reggae and rock bands creating a vibrant, fun atmosphere during the peak tourist seasons.

Opening Hours: Tuesday - Sunday 1100 – 0100

Langkawi Night Markets

If you love to trawl through vibrant markets for trinkets, treasures and unbelievable food, you’re going to love Langkawi. Langkawi night markets are held every night of the week and are home to some of the best displays of culinary expertise on the island.

From fire breathers to flame-grilled seafood skewers, there is something to amaze and entice any curious tourist. Here are a couple of the best Langkawi night markets for you to explore on your visit.

Temoyong Night Market

Probably the most famous night market in Langkawi, Temoyong Night Market is a massive street bazaar that stretches half a mile along Pantai Cenang. Coming to life around sundown, Temoyong Night Market is brimming with local vendors peddling food, clothes, accessories, fresh produce, souvenirs, and other trinkets for a willing spender.

If you’re hungry, this Langkawi night market is a popular place for locals and tourists alike to grab a quick bite to eat. For around RM5, sample some of the delicious Malay cuisine like nasi lemak, fried bananas and fish crackers. Visit a drinks stand and wash it down with a cold Tiger beer – just like the locals do.

Opening Hours: Every Thursday 17:00 – 20:00

Address: Kampung Temoyong, Pantai Cenang

Ula Melaka Market

Ulu Melaka Market may be smaller than Temoyong, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in variety! Wander this Monday night bazaar sampling fresh Malaysian fried chicken (Ayam goreng) and pick up some amazing souvenirs for under RM7.

If you’re a fan of fresh tropical fruits, Ula Melaka is the place to be during those warm summer nights. With some of the freshest durian and mangosteen in Malaysia, the variety of desserts and sweet treats is almost overwhelming.

Open: Every Monday, 1700 – 2200

Address: Jalan Makan Mahsuri Lama, Ulu Melaka

Kuah Night Market

Open every Wednesday and Saturday, Kuah Night Market is one of the most wallet-friendly Langkawi night markets around. Located near many of the sports bars on this tourist island, Kuah Night Market sells many cheap and easy foods perfect for wandering around these tasty stalls. Grab a burger or fries for around MYR 2 each, or munch on a fried hotdog on a skewer for just MYR 1.

Kuah Night Market also offers the standard market fare, like jewellery, accessories or even beautiful Malaysian material and textiles.

Open: Wednesday and Saturday, 1730 - 2200

Address: Kuah Jetty

Langkawi Nightclubs

Nightlife in Langkawi is far more relaxed than anything you’ll find on the mainland. You won’t find the stereotypical nightclub pumping out techno beats and migraine-inducing tunes in Langkawi. Instead, revellers can enjoy more relaxed scenery with cool beers, fruity cocktails and being able to hear themselves think. Here are a few of the best nightclubs in Langkawi for you to let your hair down.

D’Reef at The Cliff

There’s no better way to enjoy the gorgeous scenery of Langkawi than a cocktail under the open sky. Located on a clifftop in Pantai Cenang, D’Reef Langkawi’s open-air setup offers 360-degree views of the island and surrounding ocean second to none in the archipelago.

Much more modern than many other bars and nightclubs in Langkawi, D’Reef is flush with classic fittings to make you feel like you’re drinking in the most exclusive venue in South East Asia.

This hidden gem has room for around 40 guests and is another popular venue with anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the mains trip while taking part in Langkawi’s unique nightlife.

Food and drinks-wise, D’Reef Langkawi sits as a happy medium between the main area dives and fancy resort venues. Choose from reasonably priced house wines and spirits, all the way up to top-shelf imported whiskeys and rums. You can quash your mid-sip rumblings by indulging in some of D’Reef’s delicious honey-spice chicken wings, sharing a seafood platter or just munching on fried shrimp.

Happy hour lovers, rejoice – this Langkawi bar offers one of the longest in the party district! From 1200 – 1800, you can enjoy selected draft beers, house wines and spirits at half price, or in two-for-one specials.

If house wines aren’t your thing, D’Reef also has one of the most extensive cocktail lists in Kedah. With a mix of classic bar favourites and unique Langkawi concoctions lovingly prepared by the in-house mixologist, it’s worth a trip to the bar. Look out for the Cliffquiri – a sweet and sour daiquiri-inspired tipple with creamy notes cut through with tart fresh lime and tangy peach syrup.

Opening Hours: Daily 1200 – 2300

Address: 63 & 40, Jalan Pantai Cenang, Langkawi
