The history and stories of Chinatown are fascinating, even more so when told through the eyes of a time-traveller from 1890. Meet “Ah Gu”, a Chinese coolie who arrived in Singapore and made a life here. In his stories, be immersed in the journey of the early chinese immigrants. Hear their struggles, their hopes and their fears. Through this, gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and traditions, and what it took to survive the harsh realities of 19th Century Chinatown. During the tour, the tour guide (together with a co-host) will be interacting with the participants at the same time, through interesting questions, polls and games.
